The Grounds Team at The Estate at River Run plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of the historic property. With a focus on detail and excellence, the team is responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, ensuring that the estate remains pristine year-round. Comprised of skilled individuals who are self-motivated and independent, the team takes care of everything from painting, pressure-washing, and repairing outdoor features to maintaining equipment like golf carts and Gators.
Whether working on special projects or daily property maintenance, the team ensures that The Estate at River Run is always well-kept, safe, and beautiful for its residents and guests.
Role Description
The Estate at River Run is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Specialist to oversee the upkeep and care of our historic property. This position offers flexibility, with the opportunity to be either part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate's preference and availability. For part-time work, during the offseason, the role requires around 10 hours per week, while the in-season workload increases to approximately 30 hours per week.
We are looking for someone who can independently manage general maintenance tasks, ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, including painting, pressure-washing, sanding, and lubricating doors
- Tighten hardware, hang pictures and fixtures, and ensure proper organization of tools and supplies
- Restock facility items as needed and manage general facility upkeep
- Maintain golf carts, Gators, and other equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition
- Use tall ladders to change lightbulbs, smoke detector batteries, etc.
- Leaf blow hardscaped areas and clean outdoor fixtures (lightbulbs, cobwebs, etc.)
- Manage fire alarm system batteries and oversee yearly brush fires
- Bonus if you have experience in furniture refinishing as we have a lot of that in the pipeline!
- Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications
- This position is perfect for someone with experience in a variety of property maintenance tasks, perhaps newly retired
- Maintains their own personal set of tools and has knowledge in general maintenance, painting, and repairs
- Independent, self-motivated, and capable of working without supervision
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to property care
- Flexible with scheduling and able to adapt to the needs of the estate
