Position Summary: Leads team to optimize and grow The Playbook Sports Bar & Grill. Responsible for managing all daily food & beverage operations under the direction of property leadership. Responsible for achieving business goals and for ensuring high levels of guest service.

  1. Provides next-level guest service and practice #AddLife culture in all interactions with guests, team members and communities.
  1. Showcases the brand, emphasizing service, quality, and community, creating an enthusiastic experience for all.
  1. Executes marketing campaigns for promotion of the sports bar including competitive analysis and collaborating with marketing.
  1. Programs sports content and technical support for optimal fan experience.
  1. Encourages fan engagement with the brand and supporting amenities through innovative marketing; includes integrating live entertainment.
  1. Engages in community events to support local sports and non-profits.
  1. Assures optimal menu and beverage offerings according to region.
  1. Collaborates with marketing on maintaining and updating venue collateral on-site and on-line; consistently reviews and evaluates new features for functionality.
  1. Maintains accuracy of promotional offers, digital content management, and event calendar to ensure operational structure.
  1. Monitors and make recommendations on Sports Bar risk and liability for day-to-day and special event activity.
  1. Establishes department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and maintains other administrative processes such as budget, payroll, invoicing, and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.
  1. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.
  1. Reviews and evaluates financial reports for performance; identifies and presents key findings to partners and leadership, makes recommendations for operational improvement.
  1. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position supervisor.
  1. Functions as corporate point person/liaison for all Sports Bar Technology and specific outside vendors.
  1. Monitors the day-to-day activities of the department(s) as subject to established company policies.
  1. Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, mentors, and directs staff to ensure that Team Members receive leadership, guidance, and resources to accomplish established objectives.
  1. Responsible for work schedules, timekeeping and collaborating on personnel concerns with leadership and Human Resources.
  1. Responsible for food and beverage ordering and par levels.
  1. Collaborates and communicates with other department leaders.
  1. Other duties as assigned.

Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities: In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

Ideal candidates should possess the following:

  • Associate degree and/or bachelor's degree in Sports Bar segment of hospitality or business administration preferred.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of restaurant experience working directly with teams across multiple locations preferred with at least 2 years most recently in a General Manager or equivalent position within a Restaurant or Hotel Environment.
  • Ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on building and growing the business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, senior management, and support team including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing demands.
  • Strong track record of financial responsibility, including creating and working within budgets, P&L management, maintaining food and labor costs, managing purchasing and inventory, and driving revenue.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and food allergens/dietary needs.
  • Previous experience with high volume and/or sport’s bar venue a plus.
  • Other combinations of experience and education may be considered.

 Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License and Valid Driver’s License

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinates who may supervise employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit(s).
