Position:
- The National is currently seeking a Controller. This position is responsible to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and all Accounting functions are complete accurately and timely.
Required Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Accounting.
- Three (3) years of experience in accounting/financial management in Hospitality/Hotels.
- Previous supervisory experience, computer literacy and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must posses a strong interpersonal skills, ability to maintain composure, and the ability to make quick decisions.
- Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must work well independently.
- Must have flexibility of work schedule to include long days and weekends.
- Duties of this position will be conducted in a professional environment.
Reports to: CFO
Responsibilities:
- Manages Accounting Staff - Motivates, develops, and directs employees directly reporting to you.
- Directs day-to day operations of the accounting office to assure continuing quality of services performed.
- Complies with and holds team accountable for The National policies and procedures.
- Responsible for weekly/monthly reporting to the ownership.
- Complete month end close as per SOP timeline and completeness for completion of financial package including supporting documents.
- Completes monthly critique report with department heads and reviews for needed correction(s).
- Completes/assists with monthly forecast and annual budget.
- Completes monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assists managers with formulating and carrying out their organizational plans & expense management plans.
- Assists the Chief Financial Officer to establish the unit's goals, plans, programs, and plans that are realistic, attainable and consistent with The National's objectives.
- Performs assets and procedural audits - internal and manages/supports external audits.
- Systems and Controls: Procurement, Cash, equipment, inventory, labor utilization, production and product usage, direct expenditures and other areas requiring cost justification and management.
- Development, implementation, monitoring and correction, as required.
- Ensures that programs are designed and instituted to safeguard and properly utilize the capital assets of The National.
- Establishes realistic labor forecast and full-time equivalent goals for each operating department.
- Inspects operations daily for compliance with standards and use of good operating practices.
- Maintains petty cash fund.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.
- Follows all The National's policies and procedures and safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or overtime.
